Happy Birthday Gabriel!

Risseldy Rosseldy

We just got back from Ryan's concert at the HS.  His elementary school chorus participated in a "Pyramid Concert" with 2 other elementary schools, 2 middle schools and the high school.  He wasn't nervous at all in the packed auditorium.  I told him after how proud I was of him for his animated performance.  He bopped around as he sang the song Risseldy Rosseldy and looked so comfortable on stage.  I told him that many of the other kids were standing very still and I figured they were nervous.  He informed me that they were all instructed to stand very still while singing but he wanted to stand out...oops!  That's our Ryan!  They didn't allow cameras in the concert so here is a post-concert shot of Ryan (perched on his chair as usual) eating ice cream.  We'll be ordering the DVD so I'll post a clip at a later date=)

Muchos Cumpleanos

We have had lots of birthday parties to attend in the past couple of weekends.  First there was Colin's at Chick Fil A, then Danny's at Kids N Motion and most recently was Lavon's at the bowling alley.  Here are a few shots from the parties.

Booby and Strawberries

I hope you had a Happy Valentine's Day!  After dinner and a butt kicking at Lasertag, Scott surprised me with chocolate covered strawberries, bananas and pretzels (that HE MADE) and some dessert wine.  He also got big points for my blue footed booby!  Isn't he the cutest?  Scott knows I have a special place in my heart for the "booby."  Pardon my bragging...I just had to share!

NOW SHOWING

The guys worked hard to realize Scott's vision of the "Now Showing" frame for behind Ryan's bed.  I think the final results are pretty impressive!

And the Oscar goes to...

RYAN!  Here are a couple of snippets from Ryan's 3rd grade play about ancient civilizations.  The sync is a little off but I think it's still quite apparent that he's a natural up there.  So maybe I'm a little biased... No, that's not it... Ryan really did shine in his lead role as Jack in front of an audience of 100s.

Superbowl Weekend with Jennie Lee (last post for today!)

I didn't quite have enough pics to make a Picasa album worthwhile but a bit too much for the blog.  I decided to put them all up here so hope you like them.  I didn't intend to post so many pics so I made most of them smaller but had already uploaded a bunch in the larger size.  Sorry for the inconsistency!! We had a fun filled Superbowl Weekend in Alexandria and our house!

Dream Come True

We are SO proud of Ryan.  We changed the theme of his room 2 weeks ago to a "movie theme" complete with new shelving, posters and a sleek black comforter and pillow shams.  He has since grown up a few years.  He now sets his alarm for 6:45, showers, gets dressed, brushes his teeth, makes his bed and puts his coat and shoes on for school WITHOUT ME ASKING!!  I just can't get over it!  Friday was his first guitar club meeting before school and I came down to find him sitting on the couch waiting for me just like this...
